A REGIONAL ANALYSE OF ROMANIAN WINE MARKET
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze cultivated surfaces and obtained production in Romanian West Region of Development performing after that a SWOT analyze of this sector. Romanian West Region has two areas of major importance in Romania's vineyard production, namely Minis-M?derat and Reca? vineyards, which have a quality recognition through Denominated Origin and Geographically Indication, but also a considerable amount production for export. It is observed that even if the surfaces are not representative the quantities are bigger comparative with the national average, due the fact of advantageous geographical exposition, favorable climate and soils, tradition and continuity in this activity, a good quality recognized at national and international level. A good promotion of the products, transfer of knowlegde and technology, improuving the quality of the products to achive the European and international standards are more than necesary in the near future.
