RELIGION AS THE BASIS OF CULTURE AND MORALITY

Abstract

The article reveals the importance of the religious factor in the making of culture; examines the mechanism of interaction of knowledge and will in the formulation of moral imperatives, and also proved the impossibility of social morality in society without religious Absolutes. Culture has hundreds of definitions, the content of which can be clarified as in the context of its correlation with various facets of socio-historical life, and with philosophical categories. Due to the multiplicity of manifestations and give them shades of meaning, no unity in understanding of the term, however. For the postmodern era, coming from the fact that "all is a game", it is even normal. A manifestation of "cultural diversity" to denote now, almost any human action, including with a clear anti-cultural orientation. From specialists, professionally engaged in the study of cultural phenomenon, often required considerable intellectual courage for a clear assessment of the situation, which would not cause the slightest doubt, from their not too distant predecessors. In his study, the author refers to the original meaning of the concept of culture, considering its genetic relationship with the ritual, explains the transformation that occurred with the ideas of religion and morality, influenced by the rationalistic approaches that prevail in the Western view, with the beginning of a New time.
