Abstract

Christ’s Resurrection, despite its historical evidences available in the New Testament writings, is indeed a rock (gr. ?????, „solid stone”, 1 Cor. 10: 4) for the ones who believe in order to stronger believe, but for the skeptical ones it is a stumblingstone (gr. ?????????, „occasion of apostasy”, Rom. 9: 32), so, in this view, it is of less help in present times in order to prove that Christ’s message is still topical. There is, still, another historical fact that can become an unshakable proof, despite its fragility and its humility. That is the divine law of love (Mathew 5:44; Luke 6: 27; John 13: 34), the binder and the hope of a healthy society, free of extremism, less corrupt in any sense (ethical, economic or spiritual), capable to put humans together for their common good regardless their origins (race, social level, IQ), deficiencies, age, education, habits, personal past. Far from being a Utopia, the divine law of love (of God, of self, of one another, of the enemies) is a certain good, although “socially dependent” (can be only achieved in an altruistic society as the fruit of communion between people according to the divine pattern). Despite the scandal they produce to our “rational-limited” egoistic self-centered mind, the fruits of the Divine Spirit, of cultivating divine Love – as Saint Apostle Paul enumerates them – are beyond law, in the sense that “against such there is no law” (Gal. 5: 23). Divine love, by its name, is indeed a characteristic and a gift from God, but it is still possible to become a target and an achievement of anyone humble enough to appreciate its unique effects. (1 Cor. 13: 4-8). It is, besides all, not only a historical proof that Jesus Christ “shewed Himself alive after His passion” (Acts 1: 3) and that His message is authentic, but it is also a cost-effective way for the good of a society. It costs nothing to try and its effects grow exponentially with the number of the people involved. Nonetheless, even if only two or three decide to practice it, their effort is not in vain.
