ANALYSIS OF RESOCIALIZATION PROCESS IN DIAGNOSTIC CENTERS IN SLOVAKIA

Abstract

The role of the Diagnostic Center is to help children and parents to identify the most common causes of child behavioral disorders and to promote the development of their social skills. The Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic states that the role of the diagnostic centers is to involve children in the re-socialization, reeducation and also in the diagnostic process. Resocialization is the process of reeducation, the task and the goal is to alleviate or overcome the long-term social need of the individual, the need in which the individual got, and it is important to prevent the recurrence of this need. It is essential to bring the individual into the environment from which he has extricated. This paper focuses on the analysis of the process of resocialization of children and youth in selected diagnostic centers in Slovakia. The aim of the paper is to analyze the resocialization process from the point of view of the used methods of work in the diagnostic centers in Slovakia, based on qualitative research. The results gained focus not only on the specificity of the resocialization process in Slovakia, but also on the cooperative contexts of reeducation, resocialization and diagnostics, with the call for irreplaceable cooperation within the resocialization process with the family.
