POLISH SOCIALIST PARTY - FORMER REVOLUTIONARY FACTION VIS-A-VIS THE EVOLUTION REFORM POLITICAL CAMP DURING THE PERIOD 1928-1935
Abstract
The aim of the article is to analyse the attitude of the Polish Socialist Party – former Revolutionary Faction (PSPfRevFr) towards the Reform camp in the period 1928-1935. This party appeared on the Polish political scene as a result of a split that took place in the Polish Socialist Party (PSP), against the background of party members' attitude towards J. Pilsudski after the coup d'etat he had carried out in May 1926. For two years in the PSP there was a rivalry between two factions, which finally ended with the split and the appearance of a new party, the Polish Socialist Party – former Revolutionary Faction led by Rajmund Jaworowski, which was founded in October 1928. The Polish Socialist Party – former Revolutionary Faction, constituting the left of the Reform camp, recognized as its main opponent the Polish Socialist Party and the communist movement. A similar profile of activity was also pursued by trade unions associated with the Polish Socialist Party – former Revolutionary Faction. The Polish Socialist Party – former Revolutionary Faction proclaimed the principles of state socialism aiming at evolutionary methods to raise the standard of living of workers and the introduction of a Polish Socialist Republic. Therefore, the Polish Socialist Party – former Revolutionary Faction often reacted negatively to the proposals for political, economic and social solutions of the conservative and liberal representatives of the Reform camp.
