THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY PROMOTES THE ESSENTIAL HUMAIN CHRISTIAN VALUES
Abstract
The Christian family, aware of its role as a fundamental cell which is capable of draining the human race, is called to actively engage in the promotion and the defence of human and Christian values. The quasi-generalized crisis of moral, religious, social and material values has its origin mainly in the family crisis. The Christian family must rediscover its own intrinsic value to persistently promote ignored or lost values of our current society. The values constantly rediscovered and promoted by the Christian family are: truth, freedom, justice and charity. Without this activity, the family and the human society cannot overcome the current crisis with its many aspects. The family ennobles the universal heritage of humanity and contributes to the common good of humankind. The family who brings into existence a unique human person, unrepeatable, of inestimable value, and who gets involved in their formation, becomes the source and the drive of spiritual, material and economic growth of humanity. A fundamental value that must be promoted is the plenary objective truth, which cannot be limited to the summing of particular views or to opinions of the majority, because this transcends the human cognitive ability. Freedom is the ontological ability of every human being to consciously and irresistibly seek good and to reject evil in any form it may manifest. Nowadays, people frequently make reference to justice and try to defend it through various conventions and even international treaties. The entire human coexistence is achieved when, founded on truth, on justice, on liberty, it is animated by love.
