Abstract

The new air HUB and railway junction will be built in the Baranow commune, about 40 km west of Warsaw. The Central Communication Port, called the Solidarity Port, is planned as the best communicated place in Poland. Over the course of the decade, a new airport, a railway station as well as a railway and expressway are to be built. The airport will be scheduled to start operating with two runways, but four are planned. The planned area of the airport area is about 3,000 hectares. Initial airport capacity in the launch coin is planned for 45 million passengers per year. The calculations are based on the 2010 data projection. Currently, conceptual and design work is underway on the shape of the passenger check-in terminal. Two concepts are present in the discussions. The first assumes the creation of an airport rail between terminals. The second field contains terminals built in a concentric way, reminiscent of starfish. The process of completing the documentation as well as the development of the architectural concept are ongoing. The central communication port will be designed on this basis. The Polish aviation HUB is already being formed on the developed aviation market and has a lot of competition from the already existing air hubs. The high dynamics of economic processes on the aviation market creates a lot of unknowns regarding the creation of the new Central Airport in Poland and its role in the global aviation market.
