INTELLECT-BASED ENTERPRISE: THE ENTREPRENEUR`S DILEMMA AND ITS SOLUTION THROUGH THE UNLEASHING OF ENTREPRENEURIAL SUBJECTIVITY AND BURGEONING OF A NEW MODUS OF VALUE
Abstract
Hi-tech entrepreneurship increasingly deals with the mental capabilities of in-tellectual workers as the major resource of the post-Fordist enterprise. These workers discover and use ? on their own account ? new properties of intellect-intensive re-sources, and in doing so they acquire features that are similar to entrepreneurial quali-ties. Relying on the theory of autopoiesis, the radical subjectivist strand in econom-ics, and the radical humanist criticism of post-Fordism; we studied the major conse-quences of the changes in the mode of production and made the following conclusions. First, under the above-mentioned premises the enterprise assumes the shape of an entre-preneurial multiverse (instead of the antecedent entrepreneurВ’s universe) of various pro-jects exposed to the constant threat of disruption due to ubiquitous opportunism. Sec-ond, the nominal entrepreneur finds himself in what we term an interpretative loop, which means that he perceives his enterprise predominantly through his employeesВ’ in-terpretations. Third, the entrepreneur appears to be lodged between the extremes with negative implications. We refer to this situation as the entrepreneurВ’s dilemma of intel-lect-intensive business. Finally, the new type of entrepreneurial identity, which becomes a comprehensive property of economic agents, causes an axiological shift in economy and emergence of social value connected with the immediate production of various as-pects of lifeworld as a new modus of value opposed to the economic value connected with production of the elements of the lifeworld in industrial society.
