ASSESSMENT OF THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC BASED ON SELECTED INDICATORS OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Abstract
The paper focuses on the construction industry and its analysis from the economic-statistical perspective. Construction is a specialized economic sector that provides construction, maintenance, modernization, reconstruction and demolition of building structures. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the development of construction companies in 2010 and 2014, which are years after the crisis. The statistical data of all construction enterprises were processed for the above years using the Albertina database. In 2010, there were 9584 enterprises in the construction sector and only 6,446 enterprises in 2014. The paper focuses on assessing the development of the financial situation of construction companies in the period under review, focusing on the assessment of selected indicators of net working capital of debt and liquidity. Access to finance shows a very important role for every business and reflects its efficiency and overall growth. Therefore, research in this area is necessary, and the issue may encourage potential investors to decide on their future activities
