THE IMPACT OF THE INTERNET PROMOTION OF ROMANIAN TOURISM PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ON CONSUMER DEMAND
Abstract
The main objective of this paper was identifying the needs, wishes and expectations of Romanian customers in connection with their holidays, to the purpose of attempting the rebound of this economic branch, and the increase of the interest of as many potential customers as possible for Romania. The reason for choosing this topic resulted mainly from a desire to offer relevant information about a real-life situation on the Romanian tourism market, in which Romanians prefer spending their holidays abroad. In the research process we chose the inquiry as a statistical instrument of analysis, with the purpose of identifying the reasons why Romanians opt for a certain destination and the manner in which they search for it. Subsequent to the analysis of results, a series of opinions and reasons for preferring destinations from outside of Romania were identified. In order to gather the analyzed data we used the questionnaire. The analysis and interpretation of data was done with resort to the SPSS 17.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) statistical program. The analysis showed that the Romanian tourist gets informed well before making a decision regarding his/her holiday. In the research process, (s)he uses information tools such as search engines specialized on the tourism field, blogs/vlogs and forums. Also, tourists are influenced by the extremely attractive offers posted on the social media.
