Abstract

Migration of the population is one of the most important demographic processes. It has a significant impact on the change in the structure of the population, and as a result - on the overall economic indicators of the country's development. Transformational processes in the Russian economy are responsible for qualitative changes in the labor market. These changes affect both demand and supply of labor. Increasing the efficiency of costs for hiring new employees and stimulating their labor productivity are one of the main trends in the qualitative transformation of the Russian regional labor market. However, one of the driving factors of migration is the search for more attractive work. It was he, in recent years, in the context of the transformation of the Russian economy, which became the determining factor in the migration processes. At the same time, the economic difficulties of moving to a permanent place of residence in another region are determined by the fact that the pendulum or seasonal and labor migration is of decisive importance in Russia. Many people who live permanently in one region work in another, while they do not change the region of their permanent residence. This phenomenon is very difficult to measure and evaluate statistically. This paper presents an approach to the statistical evaluation of labor migration in Russia. The source of information for the study was the microdata of the official statistical survey of the workforce of the Russian Federation. Within the framework of this survey, one million people are interviewed, which ensures the representativeness of the final data. The article presents a statistical analysis of labor migration in Russia, points of attraction of labor migrants, as well as the most depressed regions.
