ECONOMY IS A MOTIVE POWER FOR THE COOPERATION BETWEEN KAZAKHSTAN AND THE NETHERLANDS

Abstract

In the European vector, the Kingdom of the Netherlands certainly plays a key role and is one of the main political and trade and economic priorities in the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in September 1992, Kazakhstan-Netherlands cooperation has been developing dynamically and fruitfully. Political relations between the two countries are actively developing. The relationship is characterized by its intensity and constructive dialogue; trade and economic and investment cooperation. One of the most important parts of the whole complex of bilateral relations is trade and economic cooperation. The Netherlands takes one of the leading positions among the foreign trade partners of Kazakhstan throughout the world. At present, Kazakhstan has registered more than 1000 joint projects with the Kazakhstan and Netherlands enterprises, which are engaged in geological exploration, processing and production of agricultural products, production of international commodity and services. For January-November 2016, the trade between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands amounted to 3.079 billion dollars. Moreover, the Netherlands is the main investor in Kazakhstan. According to the data by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the flow of direct investment from the Netherlands to Kazakhstan from 2005 to the second quarter of 2016 amounted to 61.1 billion dollars.
