HOW SPACE INFLUENCES THE RELATIONS BETWEEN GENERATIONS?
Abstract
The current UN and EU policy highlights building a society for all ages and avoiding of segregation of various generations in local environment. In my paper I would like to present how the material shape of urban architecture influences relations between generations. The article is based on the case study I conducted in some chosen places of Warsaw, using the theoretical prospect of the sociology of architecture. I analyzed public spaces and quasi-public buildings in the context of their both communicative and physical potential. I propose a theoretical concept grasping this relation.
