FEATURES OF STUDYING MATHEMATICS IN-DEPTH IN BASIC SCHOOLS
Abstract
Background: The new content of mathematical education should ensure the achievement of state, social and personal needs and interests of students. Current situation related to the methodological and psycho-pedagogical aspects in-depth studying of mathematics is considered by authors. The rethinking of traditional methods of teaching and searching new techniques to form independent and cognitive activity occurs at the step of transition to the new quality of education. It happens in the process of teaching mathematics in the informational and educational environment. The implementation of didactic principles of teaching such as strength, systematic, integrity and consistency of knowledge, as well as a deep understanding of the teaching material, an increase in the theoretical level of knowledge, have an important place in quality mathematics teaching. The organization of activities for the student’s development is an important condition for teaching mathematics, taking personal potential and age-specific features of the formation of mathematical activity. Methods: The authors of this article used theoretical research methods to determine the specifics of study mathematics for working with the main school students: the study of scientific literature, research in the field of psychology, the method of modeling of a study course, experimental method to justify and prove the hypothesis of the study. Results: We found out that the problem of the quality of teaching mathematics requires conflict resolutions in the formation of independent and cognitive activity of students. The result depends on the organization of learning process. The authors assign the important role the ability development to generalize in the studying process in main school. Conclusions: Searching for constructive ways of student’s personal development in the informational and educational environment with in-depth study of mathematics actualizes the necessity of the «generalization of mathematical knowledges» notion , as a means of improving the methodical system of teaching. This approach is of interest as an example of a constructing course in mathematics at a main school.
