Abstract

In the ferment of the demonstrations activated in Genoa in the last years and in the research projects of the University, in the Department of Architecture and Design, we must also include the relation established among studies funded by external bodies, including private ones, and theoretical-methodological research, in particular on the importance of representative choices in communication. The general objective lies in a careful analysis of the role that representative choices play in the communication of visual messages, as a fundamental element for the success of the communication itself. Hence the choice to set the research on two levels of study: a first level concerning the analysis and understanding of the roles of representation at the service of communication with the consequent formulation of a working method based on conscious representative choices and a second level the design application of this method.
