ECONOMIC PREFERENCES AND PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECOLOGICAL TOURISM IN RUSSIA
Abstract
Research over the past 20 years has shown the enormous role of tourism in the economies of most countries. First of all, it allows solving problems of stimulating social development of regions. Tourism has a stimulating effect on such sectors of the economy as transport, communications, trade, construction, agriculture, production of consumer goods and contributes to the development of practically all sectors of the economy [1]. In the late 70s of the twentieth century, ecological tourism becomes one of the most popular types of travel, the purpose of which is to protect nature. First of all, this is a trip to places with relatively untouched nature. The main principle in this journey is not to harm the environment. Eco-tourism travelers use only environmentally friendly transport, organize camps only in specially designated areas, pick berries, medicinal plants in permitted areas, accommodation facilities are built only from harmless materials. The unique role of this type of tourism is not yet sufficiently understood at all levels of management in Russia. Therefore, in its development, ecological tourism in Russia encounters a number of serious problems, including: lack of specialized tour operators, lack of legal basis for ecological tourism, high cost of transportation services, low level of service at unreasonably high prices, underdevelopment of ecological culture among the Russian population, poor development of environmental infrastructure and environmental technologies in tourism. The indicated problems will be discussed in more detail in the article.
