Abstract

The intensity and scale of socio-political and socio-psychological changes taking place today in modern society imposes special requirements on the psychological resources of a person as a subject of life. In conditions of high uncertainty, rising social tensions and globalization, there is a growing need to master the ways of organizing your life taking into account the time indicators. Modern production methods often require self-organizing in time specialists, who are able to respond adequately to changing conditions. In this study, the authors defined the concept of “temporal personality”, described its structural components. Social adaptation was characterized as a process of adaptation to the social environment. In a sample of 693 people aged 20 to 60 years, the cluster analysis identified five types of personality temporality. With the help of student’s t-critique, statistically significant differences manifested in the indicators of social adaptation in people belonging to different types of temporal competence have been established. People of the technological type of temporality can be considered as maximally adapted. They are more satisfied than others with their position in society, interaction with other people, they get tired of the way of life that they lead. Minimally socially adapted compared to other people demonstrative type. They're not entirely satisfied with themselves. They are not always tired of their own health and lifestyle. Interaction with other people they consider insufficiently productive. The maximum similarity in social adaptability are inert and ambivalent types. The study expands the range of psychological knowledge about the temporal personality, makes it possible to identify the links between social adaptation and mastery of time.
