THE TRENDS OF INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Abstract
The competitiveness of the economy is based on an innovative type of reproduction. Thus, the underlying objective of the article is to identify the key trends of innovation development in the Russian Federation. In order to solve this problem, the authors have analyzed the dynamics of the Global Innovation Index (GII) in countries with different levels of economic development and determined the ranking position of the Russian Federation in the context of those countries. Based on the statistics, a comprehensive analysis of the Russian Federation's innovative activity indicators dynamics has been conducted to determine its ranking position in the Global Innovation Index. It presents data about the most innovation-oriented enterprises that have defined the vector of innovative development. The article also discusses the structural features of funding research and development costs, which are, in turn, essential for innovative development. Finally, based on the analyzed data, the authors identify and describe the main trends of the innovation development inherent in the Russian Federation.
