THE EVALUATION OF CORRUPTION IN LOCAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: CASE STUDY IN OLTENIA REGION
Abstract
The aim of the paper is to analyze the risks of corruption, the manifestation and the impact of corruption in the local public administration in the Oltenia region. The objective of the article is to highlight the particularities of corruption in local public administration by correlating them in close connection with case studies. Based on specialized literature and anticorruption strategies and policies, we intended to find a correlation between public administration leadership and corruption in Oltenia by public servants. Our research shows the fact that the corruption phenomenon negatively affects the image of the public organization and is manifested, mainly, at leadership level. The article has practical implications for both public servants and anticorruption practitioners because, based on case studies, we made recommendations in order to reduce the phenomenon of corruption.
