COMPETITIVENESS OF THE V4 COUNTRIES
Abstract
The article is focused on identification of factors of competitiveness, which are divided on external and internal factors of competitiveness. Aim of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness of the V4 countries in comparison with the EU countries on the basis of macroeconomic indicators evaluation and the subsequent use of selected indices of competitiveness assesment. Although competitiveness is still difficult to measure, there are factors that affect it and not just the intradepartmental, but also on the sectoral and macroeconomic level .In this paper we focus on the evaluation of the competitiveness of countries based on the country's involvement in international trade by individual commodity areas and highlight the comparative advantages of the countries surveyed. For this purpose we use the RCA index and Michaely index. The article points to the growing interdependence of the world economy in the globalization process, so it is necessary to monitor and compare the competitiveness not only of integration groups, but also the competitiveness of individual countries. In this paper we use data World Economic Forum, which is compiled annually by one of the most important competitiveness rankings - Global Competitiveness Report.
