INTERPRETATIVE AND COMPOSITION ARCHETIPAL RESONANCE OF THE CONTEMPORARY CREATIONS FOR THE SOLO CLARINET

Abstract

This paper comes to present and highlight the works of three Romanian composers, who are or were professors at the Arts University "George Enescu" University, institution with 156 years of existence. It is about Sonante by Vasile Spatarelu, Invocations by Viorel Munteanu and Impressions from childhood composed by Bogdan Chirosca. All these works are recorded on the CD named The clarinet in the creation of composers from Iasi, [1]. In this scientific and artistic approach, we propose to present and decode three compositions for solo clarinet, each of which being an archetype in terms of structure, instrumental technique required, ways of interpreting the colours and timbre effects. The paper presents the structural elements of these valuable compositions, highlighting the interpretative aspects; also, is discussed the technique used in interpretation, with proposals for optimization (solving) the problems and for obtaining the proper colour and timbre effects. In our opinion, this artistic and scientific work is really useful both for professors and students for didactic purposes, but especially for clarinet players in their interpretative activity, taking into account that all three compositions are very difficult.
