Abstract

The article suggests the results of the All-Russian study, one of the tasks of which was to measure some indicators of the quality of life of Russians. The indicator of the quality of life and its components can be used not only in the static assessment, but also to show the dynamics of the change, linking it with the administrative decisions on the development of territory adopted over a specified period. As a topic of comparative research, the quality of life can establish real positions comparing territories, strata, social groups and historical periods. Using only a few indicators of the integral assessment of the quality of life, we were able to confirm the existing problem of Russia - the prevalence of groups of people living close to the poverty line and in cramped material conditions. The notorious middle class in Russia is not equal to the middle class of Europe and other developed countries. The one that we can safely call the middle class is more than 1%. Such a construction of "social well-being" can not but cause concern. Material damage is reinforced by tight cohesion in the opportunity to improve their standard of living, to change anything. The study clearly identifies the group is close to 40% for which the manifestations of labor and professional mobility, the improvement of the quality of life, in fact - the transition to another class are impossible. The lack of prospects generates a pessimistic perception of life - as a result, a feeling of uncertainty, uncertainty about the future, social tension, and the level of social mistrust increases. Such a statistical picture of the distribution of public opinion leads us to understand the paramount importance of improving the quality of life of Russian citizens.
