TEACHING TUTORING SUPPORT OF PUPILS TO PEDAGOGICAL GRADUATE STUDENTS
Abstract
Contemporary process of general education shifts focus from teaching large groups of pupils to organize their independent learning. Teacher Training Universities are to prepare pre-service teachers for organizing pupils’ independent work in order to assist a better development of the child’s abilities. Application of tutoring support in primary, secondary and high school is one of the effective means to achieve these goals. This task is set in the Law “On Education in the Russian Federation” (2012), which stresses the necessity of applying different forms of teaching-learning process in general education, including tutoring. Teaching tutoring support to pedagogical students seems most effective on the level of graduate studies. The present paper introduces the definition and structure of tutoring support. The levels of teachers’ organizing tutoring support are described. The process of pedagogical graduate students’ training to organize tutoring support is shown. The experimental research conducted in one of the Teacher Training Universities in the Urals in 2014-2017 illustrates the system of activities to prepare pedagogical graduate students to apply tutoring support teaching pupils in general education.
