THE ROMANIAN'S POPULATION HEALTH CONDITIONS AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE
Abstract
In recent decades, like the rest of EU countries, Romania faced the same problem of aging population. Differences in vision and approach between health systems in the EU states are found in the health indicators, the management of health system having a major impact on health status. Despite of a slight improvement, the average life expectancy in Romania continues to one of the lowest values among EU countries. In Romania, patterns of morbidity and mortality have undergone important changes, increasing the prevalence of chronic diseases and mortality in these cases, in the context of increasing the share of elderly population, associated with the multiple actions of biological, environmental and behavioral risk factors and the influence of socio-economic and healthcare conditions. Contribution of health determinants is different, a significant role in Romanian low health level argumentation, being assigned to social and community networks development and socio-economic, cultural and environmental conditions.
