INNOVATION INTEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND CULTURE

Abstract

The article deals with the topical problem - the innovative activity of a modern teacher, a teacher of a foreign language. The introduction of pedagogical innovations means the use and application in practice of new methods and technologies, tools, changing and adapting the known methodology in the new conditions of integrity, openness and pragmatism of education. The Concept for the Development of Russian Education from 2016 to 2020 states a competence approach as the bestto comply with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education 3+, where the reflection of the competence approach in educational standards is reduced to personal and meta-subject results. This means changing the orientation of education to the benefit of the development of independent activity of students for self-development of the individual through the formation of ‘key competencies’. Thus, the object of the given article is the educational process of the university in the terms of applying innovative teaching methods; the subject - innovation in teaching as an innovative activity; the scope - the reflection of the competence approach to learning a foreign language and the culture of the country; the objectives - to determine the methods of pedagogical innovation activity and to develop a new teaching tool. The research expected results: a new textbook Innovative Pedagogical Activity in Teaching Foreign Languages This includes 5 modules and 4 applications representing the methodology of pedagogical innovation activity in 18 lectures with presentations, the first theoretic module (M1). Innovative practical educational activity in multilingual multicultural educational environment of the university is disclosed in 4 modules: M2- innovative activity in teaching foreign languages, including the examples from working programs of disciplines, innovative methods as debates, business games, heuristic training (16 types of assignments) and methodological recommendations; M3 - controlling and self-controlling consists of intermediate and final tests, various tasks (written essays, oral reports); M4 –self-guided work of students with tasks, sources, and guidelines; M5- additional Internet resources - a catalog of educational sites and podcasts, as well as additional literature. The textbook is devoted to the topical issues of using modern information technologies in the professional pedagogical activity and is intended for those who teach foreign languages and culture, and those who recognize, and perceive the process as an integrative phenomenon. The textbook is Far East Regional Educational and Methodological Center classified publication intended for bachelors, undergraduates, students, postgraduate students, teachers and teachers of foreign languages.
