APPLICATION OF GENOMIC RESEARCH TECHNOLOGIES FOR INNATE IMMUNITY ERRORS

Abstract

The rate of development of genomic technologies exceeds the rate of creation and adoption of medical technologies and their legal support. The purpose of the article is a review of genomic technologies and their capabilities, limits, ethical and social risks, the legal regulation of these technologies in the Russian Federation. It is noted that in the near future it will be possible to improve the quality of the procedure being analyzed by introducing Whole-Exome Sequencing testing. However, this will require improving the legal and regulatory framework. One of the ways is the adoption of a multipronged federal law that regulates in detail the implementation of gene diagnostics, gene therapy and genetic counseling related to them. The implementation of this project will require the relevant financial investments from the state, which will be compensated by reducing the costs of symptomatic treatment and the life-long maintenance of people with disabilities. It is substantiated the necessity of applying a systematic approach to arrangement of conditions ensuring the realization of the constitutional right of Russian citizens to health protection. The problems of legal regulation and further improvement of existing laws are formulated.
