Abstract

Information processes in the public consciousness attract attention of many philosophers from different philosophical directions. It is generally accepted that a common methodological basis for analysing the substantive content of these information processes has not yet been found. In this article, the author proposes a debatable version of such a methodology, within which it may be possible (maybe quite possible) consistent (without conflict) understanding of the basic content of information processes in the public consciousness. This refers to the informational approach to the analysis of social consciousness. Public consciousness is considered as an information space. In this information space one of the types of information – social information-is analyzed. Social information is created by the subject of social activities in accordance with their needs and their social experience. Information processes in public consciousness in this case, it is considered as a social transfer of information from one state to another. Such transitions can be infinitely diverse, because the social consciousness itself is infinitely space). It is this infinite diversity, according to the author, that creates the possibility of using different philosophical directions for the analysis of transition information processes in the public consciousness.
