Abstract

Mastering a foreign language today is of vital importance to specialists as it has become the terms of successful international cooperation. Although there are lots of foreign language teaching methods, graduates experience great difficulties in producing even a low level speech. Therefore, the key aim of the article is to deal with the problem of overcoming the language barrier for vocationally oriented foreign language teaching due to appropriate teaching terms, ways and techniques. The research is based on the method of observing, questioning, and surveying and the communicative method. The communicative approach is the most actual one for developing studentsВ’ abilities to make a spontaneous speech in the atmosphere of imaginary language environment. Production of speech can be realized on the base of the theories of context and multisensory approaches. Great is the role of the method of unexpectedness. The research confirms that the combination of the most effective terms, namely, a competent teacher, vocationally oriented teaching material, increasing the motivation, creating an imaginary language environment, using communicative teaching methodology is vital in solving the problem. The teacher is a coordinating, motivating, and supporting center that provides the teaching process with an appropriate pedagogical and methodical support. The task of the teacher is to create such an atmosphere in which the learner would feel comfort, would take on the teacher as a senior colleague or mentor, who is ready to help him/her. Findings of this study prove that all teaching approaches, methods, ways, and techniques are effective if used together. Considered are different definitions of language barrier and all kinds of barrier, that is, psychological, linguistic, communicative, and social cultural barrier. Motivation to learn the language is achieved due to vocationally oriented teaching material. The research shows that vocationally oriented foreign language teaching is much better to put into practice through overcoming the language barrier.
