CRITICAL ASPECTS OF ROMANIAN BALNEO-TOURISM PROMOTION
Abstract
In terms of natural resources and existing potential, balneo-tourism represents one of the main forms of tourism in Romania, that can be even further developed with proper regulations, investments and promotion. Therefore, it is important to raise awareness upon relevant aspects that can help to promote more efficiently this form of tourism. Along with the concepts related to the addressed topic, this paper presents the results of a qualitative research that aimed at identifying the appropriate action directions in promoting the Romanian balneo-tourism. The conversation guide that served for data collection was organized around a series of discussion themes, in an attempt to identify: the existing problems regarding the promotion of balneo-tourism, the most suitable methods of promotion for balneo-tourism, the main objectives that should be followed by promotional actions, the main consumer segments that should be targeted and the responsible persons and authorities that should implement the promotional actions. The research was conducted among top specialists from organizations directly involved in the field of balneo-tourism. All the results obtained and the conclusions drawn are meant to support a positive evolution of the balneo-tourism in Romania.
