SCHOOL AND PARENTAL COOPERATION
Abstract
Cooperation between schools and parents is a broad and extremely important part of school life. It is not only the involvement of parents in school life through the School Board or the participation of parents in regular information meetings with teachers in classrooms. The effort of the school is to impress parents directly in school, to share common joys, to solve common problems in education as well as to educate their children and cooperate within the interests of children. These processes facilitate a personal contact with parents, a deeper mutual understanding of parents and teachers and possibilities of mutual experiences with children and teachers. Schools also organize educational and experiential events that give parents the opportunity to learn about the deeper philosophy of schools, teaching methods and opportunities to create class and school community. An important area of cooperation is also the process of learning and teaching itself, a direct engagement of parents in classes, excursions, creative workshops, nature schools and in other extracurricular activities. The presented study analyses the innovative forms of cooperation in which a class teacher plays a decisive role.
