THE IMPACTS OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT ON THE LIBEREC REGION BORDER ZONE RESIDENTS
Abstract
The paper deals with the results of the research realized by the Faculty of Economy, Technical University of Liberec, at the end of 2013. The research explored the impacts of tourism development on the Liberec region residents. Respondents from the traditional areas of the Liberec region described the effects of the tourism development on local economy, especially the family revenues. Positive but also negative impacts of tourism development on respondents were thoroughly examined. At the end of the questionnaire survey the respondents recommended measures how to increase revenues from tourism without negatively affecting the Liberec region environment. The research results will not only be used for further research activities of the author, but also presented to entrepreneurs and officials from municipal authorities of the Liberec region.
