SYSTEM OF ENGINEERING TRAINING DEVELOPMENT IN TOBOLSK INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE (RUSSIA)
Abstract
Technological needs of the modern economy significantly change the nature of engineering education. Today's engineers must be willing to work in the conditions of increasing technological processes and equipment complexity. The article discusses the main challenges and trends in Russian engineering educational development on example of Tobolsk Industrial Institute (branch) of "Tyumen Industrial University." The authors reveal the reasons for graduates' preparation quality declining in technical university training areas, describe in detail the engineering training system, which several years ago was tested in Tobolsk Industrial Institute. The article states, the effective ways to overcome existing shortcomings in bachelor practical part, is educational institutions and large industrial companies integration – as future specialists' potential employers. To implement such a system, the engineers' training in our branch have been used for international training results requirements (learning outcomes), such as the World Standards Initiative CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate).
