The article discusses the main results and problems of provincial communists' social mobility during the 1920s on the basis of the representative sample from Communist party census held in 1927. The study of gender aspects of social mobility allows to claim that the influence of gender stereotypes still remained at that period and led to the discrimination of women even within Communist party.
