The aim of the given investigation is to find out various definitions and comparing characteristics of antonyms on the basis of synchronous analyses. The article is dedicated to research of antonyms in different structural languages. In order to reveal the nature of antonyms it is necessary to investigate their essence but concerning this question there is no settled opinion.
