The term Paleo-Asiatic peoples (Paleoasiatic) was proposed by the Russian scientist L. I. Strencom in the middle of the 19th century to refer to a number of indigenous peoples of the North and North-East Siberia with the archaic features of culture, characteristic of the Neolithic stage of development.
